If we could treat life as a simple train journey we would be rather blissful than what we are today.
Think about it, the analogy came to my mind while I was discussing with my brother; some general challenges we face in ones personal relationship and specially at a workplace.
So here is the thought that I had:
When we board a train we meet strangers, we then slowly accept them as companions and make short term friends. Most of the times we have a great time and enjoy ourselves sharing views on various worldly topics, cultures, how people should live. All this is done without any fear or thought of any good or bad future implications. We are respectful to them at all times, and share with them whatever we can. So they do, there is a very short-term happy bonding that builds up. And, all this is until we finish our journey. As soon we get down of that train, we get into our daily grind, our regular goals and objectives takeover from this point and govern our schedule and activities. And, we forget these short-term friends and relationships that we made in the journeys.
We hardly have very strong memories from such journey's in past. If we recall we can see that we were almost detached and yet so attached during these journeys, we were not intruding in any one's privacy yet sharing a lot of ideas and thoughts without personal inhibitions. Overall we were very happy and were enjoying ourselves.
But, on the contrary in our personal lives we are cautious, have inhibitions, we are highly judgmental in our approach. We either love or hate people around us. We have high expectations, unfulfilled desires and lots of alases and could be's.
Did we ever realize that all we need to is - live this life just like another train journey. And, with this simple mantra we could live a happier life.
